Jet lag and the forthcoming blues

I'm sitting here fighting sleep. It's four in the afternoon and I've serious sleep deprivation after coming back on the red eye overnight from Philadelphia.
So words are sadly not happening cause I write three and then realise I've spelt two of them wrong! So I've changed pictures instead cause I can cope with that.
Not many pictures to show for my trip, as I really didn't do very much outside of lurking on the porch. Did read eight books though in 10 days, so a bit of slacking on a couple of days!
And bought three home for the weekend, so that when I get over the jet lag and hit the post holiday blues then I've got a place to escape back to America for a few hours.
I've been going through a bit of a melt down, due to having to stay here, so have applied for another job, it will,if I get it run alongside the other two I have. It will, whether it's this one or another, give me the freedom to pay for my yearned for trips.
And will give me a new focus, which has been a difficult thing to find where I live when I have wanted to leave it for so long. I still do, but nothing can happen now till next spring.
I realise that I have to make contact with real people a bit more, especially locally and not be so dependant on the internet to supply my needs.
Which in itself is threatening as I feel a bit lost as to what I can do outside of visit all my friends in far flung places, which is what I adore doing.
So brain storming has got to take place about making where I live a more sociable place. This of course will be sorted by another job, but if that doesn't happen then it's going to be a challenging few weeks as I look for stuff when I've shut myself so firmly down here.
Hey Ho!
Too many words for my poor tired brain for today. Going to walk the dog instead!

Welcome home .... hang in there! Don't work too much or you won't have any time to travel, my dear.

Is there a problem with isolating yourself at home? You seem to have lots of friends whom you visit and people you walk with, your family , your clients...what’s wrong with quiet time alone at home? Do you feel lonely? Just curious...I am now home alone a lot and actually find myself liking it. My best friends now seem to be my blogging buddies. I get more support from them then I ever did with my real life friends...hmmm. Lots of love to you Bryd. I’m sure whatever you do will be the right choice.

Welcome home Mandy!
The worst time to think too much is when you're tired! Hopefully you'll feel much better in the morning.
Hope the new job works out ok!

Hi Mandy,
I agree with Zan -- when you are exhausted is not the time to start burdening yourself with big questions and worries. Rest up and try to enjoy some post vacation glow before you let your mind loose on the big stuff. I think you have taken the first step in declaring you want things to be different. If you relax and have faith, the universe will help serve up some delicious options for you. I just KNOW it! Welcome home my friend and I hope you enjoyed your vacay! Love. Lyn

Ooh such good blog buddy wisdom! I add mine to the pot. Glad you made it home safely. To sit on the porch and read undisturbed sounds like a little piece of heaven.

I worry about my ability to socialize with real people in the coming months. I think I remember how, but that doesn't mean I'm comfortable with it. I think I'm going to have to push myself to get out and about. The thought of a new job petrifies me.

But like Lyn said, I think a key element is to relax (breathe) and have faith. You'll know what's right for you. Take care. Sleep tight. Remember, there's no place like home.

I have just been looking the your slide show of birds - they are fantastic.
Easier said than done I know, but take each day it comes and try not to look ahead too much. I have been reading The Power of Now - maybe you can tell!

As I've said before , there is nothing wrong with where you are, just your attitude to it. It's a beautiful part of the world - see it and its people through different eyes.

It's not easy to make big changes in your life. I agree with what's been said here already....try to relax and enjoy your post holiday glow then when you feel ready then you can tackle the difficult stuff! I'm not sure how much time you have but given your love of photography what about joining a group of some kind? Just a thought

I hope some sleep can clear your mind a bit, and that you can start to move forward and chip away at all these things.

I hope, too, that you had a lovely time on your break: I'm sure you did. xx

Hi Mandy,I wish you English people would not find it so difficult to address strangers, learn from the Americans! In every community there are at least two or three people who are friend-stuff, you`ve just to find them. But they are perhaps sitting at home, too. So you should peer into windows (haha, just kidding), walking around town more instead of remote meadows, and sit in cafés or visit fairs or whatever you do in your home town. And then you look around and address people who look nice. Say, Don`t you think they are selling pretty stuff here? or something uncommitting, just to make contact. Then sometimes the former strangers will smile and reply something, etc. I do it that way, and SO OFTEN it works.
And then look forward to spring and be gone! Happy cheery smiles to you!

Welcome home Mandy! Looking forward to hearing more. Very good of you to post with brain-fuddle. Jet lag can be hard to deal with but seasoned travellers are very sympathetic, Australians and New Zealanders especially understand, when we are more part of Asia and the Pacific, so far away from England, Europe and the U.S.with our reverse seasons!
Returning from Wales, I tended to stay inside with the lights down low, echoing the winter season I'd left, rather than face the hot Australian glare.
Glad you had a good trip and who knows, perhaps when you sell your house at a future date, the market will be more receptive and you'll be offered even more for it! Good luck with future avenues of work.

Glad you had a good trip and are home safe.

Never try to think about too much when you're jet lagged!

Welcome back!

I'm a bit miffed with my 'reader' for not bothering to show me posts lately. RAWR!!

But welcome back just the same.
Whoever suggested to NOT think too much while jet-lagged was a smart person.
Plenty of time to do that when you're caught up on rest and acclimated to your timezone again.

Just sayin'......
