Ode to middle age spread!! And a story in 50 words
Where are you?
I've searched down by the lake,
along the shore.
On top of the cliffs,
In the rocks below.
Up the hill,
down in the valley.
Under my bed,
Inside the fridge.
Even the cupboard under the stairs.
I've hunted in drawers and wardrobes
Without success,
Ah yes I remember.....
.... you're under my dress!
And a story in 50 words
The blizzard continued unabated, the wind howled through the trees, the snow swirled and eddied about, the land was dark and forbidding The candle sputtered out. In now total darkness the axe came down with a whoosh through the frozen air......
....At least there was wood for the fire now

Thank you, this was just what I needed. :D

Oh yeah....LOL....it's there!
Love the self-seeking walk description! So poetic!
If you just could see me smile!
lol! I loved the ode, Fire Byrd!
And that story had me imagining all sorts of things - and the ending was perfect. For a moment I thought I might have to peek between my fingers to read it!
Err... first place I'd have looked ;)
mandy - so clever. Your playful spirit has returned. You must be feeling better. And if youdidn't smile ... you certainly made me grin! : )
Mandy, I laughed at your words and then reminded myself to set the alarm for my early morning run on the beach. ugh.
Now I am wondering why you picked 50?
I know your not a day over 39...
~smile~
Thanks for the e-notes, they cheered me up!
Sending big kisses and warm hugs
Sounds like you're back on board Byrd. Liked your writing, although snow being "swirled and eddied about" is something it's hard for a South Australian to relate to....middle age spread, yes, definitely.
your sowing your wild oats which is a good sign of recovery....thanks for your visit...I did go tearing down Pacific Coast Hiway in my new car. not too fast, sun roof open, windows down, stereo blasting Chris Isack....yippee...I a big girl now!!
yeah, middle age spread along with menopause.. what a bloody charming combination!
