Winter Wonderland.

The snow started at 7am this morning and hasn't stopped since. This has meant that apart from a quick dash to the shops first thing that I have stayed snug indoors, making soup and sandwiches for guests stopping off en route between Devon and Liverpool. So freshly made cream of mushroom and a roasted red pepper soup awaited them.. They weren't able to stay as long as they would have liked as the snow showed no sign of stopping and they wanted to reach their destination before dark. I'm now left feeling a bit flat with nothing to do but admire the snow..... right that will be it then! I hate snow. I admit it looks pretty today but it gets in my way. As by tonight it will have turned the roads to ice, the pavements to skid tracks, and my temper to frazzled! I should be serious walking tomorrow followed by a pub lunch, but this is looking seriously unlikely at the moment. Which means that I'll just have to stay home and make more soup. Of course if life gets too desperate I could always clean my cooker , a job that has been on the 'to do' list for some time now. Gawd I think going out in the snow if preferable to that......
Hope you enjoy my snow pictures to get you into the festive mood.  I particularly like the snow dog wearing her festive tinsel!
Have a wonderful Christmas and may all your hopes and dreams come true next year.

Just a bit of sleet in the lowlands of Staffordshire. Soup is actually one of my favourite meals - especially vegetable. Yours sound delicious ....

Oh man, so much snow! Here it is raining, but above zero, so everything is wet and dark, bleah! I know that snow makes icy roads, but it sure LOOKS much prettier! So does your dog!
Love from over here! And thank you, too!

I love all of your snow photos, it looks so very beautiful to me and just how I always think Christmas time should be. It;s easy for me to say that snow is beautiful as i never have to live with it. I hope you do manage to have your walk ...I wish that i could walk with you then return to your's for some of your wonderful soup.
Happy Christmas Mandy, may you get every good thing you wish for,

It does look beautiful but I have to admit that I'm quite happy there is none here! When I was a little girl I was, according to my Dad, being 'a wee shite' whilst getting ready for bed. It had been snowing really heavily and there was a huge snow drift right outside our back door. He picked me up (I was completely naked), took me outside and plonked me down onto the snowdrift! There is a photo of my bum imprint in the aforementioned snow drift somewhere! Suprisingly...I'm not a fan of snow...wonder why eh!

I hope next year brings you lots of love, luck and laughter.

I am enjoying your pretty snow ... we have none in downtown Bend right now... only on the mountains (which is fine with me!)

A big big squeezy hug for Christmas Mandy. While you shiver amongst that picturesque scenery, I have just returned from an outdoor Christmas Eve gathering - windows of the car down hoping to catch some kind of semblance of a refreshing cool breeze. It's so hot in Adelaide and the whole car now smells like Aerogard because of the mosquito protection we have to spray on to make sitting outside bearable. Part of the smells of Xmas here I suppose.
