The bright light at the end of the tunnel is reached!

This evening I went to see my new consultant, my old one retired last summer.
It was my FIVE year check up.
I passed!!! Mammogram clear, off tamoxifen, see him next year and have mammograms from now one two yearly.

Then he offered me a job!!!

He wants a psychotherapist he can refer clients to who are making the decision whether to have reconstruction or not.

When I investigated this, on balance I decided against having reconstruction and I'm happy with my choice.

It doesn't matter whether he was serious or not, it didn't half make me feel good. That I am so far cured that he didn't see it as a conflict of interests in my own cancer and other women's..... OH YES!

Mandy - could you get better news?! Now you cease to be a patient and the offer from your dr was the icing on the cake. I hope you are celebrating this life affirming milestone. It seems that you have emerged from the mist, stronger, more vibrant and alive than ever!

Great news, I have friends and a Mum who are all breast cancer survivors so I know and understand how much this means to you Mandy.
