If you live here you can talk to strangers endlessly about the weather. Doesn't matter how old the person you start talking to, we all have something to say on the subject.
The weather in the UK is rarely right, we all can find something wrong with it. Even last week when it was stunning, sunny and warm, some people moaned cause they were having to water their gardens too much,as it was too dry.
Today it is terrible, pouring with rain, windy and so cold. I'm still sitting here with two jumpers on. I wanted to put the heating on, but wouldn't let myself as it is June..... My son has no such qualms and the house is now getting so toasty I may be able to remove a layer soon!
So I thought because the weather is so odd around the world we'd go for a trip to the south coast of England just cause we can. There doesn't seem to be the patterns of weather that we are used to, as in the winters were always snowy and the summers always sunny. That of course is a rose coloured view of our pasts! But there do seem to be a lot of mentions about how our weather is around blogworld, as it doesn't seem to be what we assumed was normal. So we can all be assured that these extraordinary conditions are either due to global warming, or the start of the next ice age!!!

I enjoyed visiting your blog, and the post about weather reminds me of Wisconsin (USA), where I live. The news consists of sports and weather, everyone's always commenting on the weather, and Wisconsinites seem to feel Wisconsin has the most volatile weather anywhere. It can be quite annoying to hear people go on and on about it.
Your flower photography is beautiful. I, also, have recently discoverd a love of photography and noticed your poppy photo in particular; I took a similar one recently, but haven't posted it yet.
I'll be back for another visit soon.
My favorite part of England is the south shore ..... and I also love the feel and sound of rain as it hits a windowsill when I'm visiting the Lake District ......
It rained here too yesterday, a sudden summer storm. Everyone talked about it too, but no one can complain, we need it terribly. Well, maybe the campers in tents down at the beach weren't very happy ☺

I really know nothing about your homeland England except what I read. I have to say the pictures you post make me want to pack my bags and spend time in the Engish loveliness. Of course thats never gonna happen, my leash is way to short and I've recently made the decision to NEVER fly across the ocean. I must rely on bloggers and writers and photographers to treat me to all things British.
P.S. I just finished reading the Geography of Bliss. There was a whole chapter on the unhappiness of Brits. Except of course when they are in a pub talking about the weather!
Ooo my! It's like the BR coastal track. The weather is weird out here too. Usually it's a stinky 90 - 100 by now around here but it's overcast and positively cool.

We took a quick trip to UK 9th May until 24th May and silly me had packed summer clothes. Sad to say they never made it out of my case! I had forgotten how fickle the British weather can be. We normally go over at Christmas time when we expect to have lovely cold weather. Superb photos.
AS everyone who reads me regularly knows I rarely comment here. I just don't have time nor do I check if someone has done the same on their blog when I've left a comment.

Hi Fire Byrd, I've just been reading your last five post...and my heart reaches out to you in all that you celebrate and go through...it's varied weather here at your blog! I'm sorry that you have to deal with the pre/post cancer life...it's like a loss of innocence, isn't it? I love the way you honored your mother's memory with your sister by having an outdoor picnic. And the victory of taking the 'wild' one to the vets by yourself! Yea for you!! You deserve plenty of good weather from here on out...oh and handsome boys you have too. btw you look quite sunny and sporty in your striped shirts!!<3
Well there's one thing I'll say about the weather over the last couple of days: there's been plenty of it...
Also, we do seem to be witnessing the truth of that old saying it never rains but it pours.

Tried to travel as much of the U.K. as I could when over there in 2005, but we were more in Scotland and Wales, and it made me sad that I didn't have the time or resources to get to places like Cornwall, Plymouth and the south end of England.I truly don't know if or when I will be there again, so it is fun for me to see your photos.
