Connections with love

I do so love connections with people I care about.
You know the sort of thing, the phone ringing just as you were about to pick it up and ring that self same person.

One of the places I think a lot about people, is on my walks. And the number of times that I later find out that they were thinking about me, at a similar time is just astounding.

I've mentioned here before I sit at my desk typing on my laptop, surrounded by treasures people I love have given me. It's a very random selection of stuff. There are crystals, lapis lazuli, zinc, tourmaline. There are two small labyrinths, one in metal, one in clay. There are two feathers, a herons and and a magpies. There is a native Indian rattle,a kaleidoscope a rabbit in a green dress, two empty bullet cases and several photographs.

Two of the photographs have been sent to me by Sorrow, both are of a lake, one with a pontoon jutting out into the water and the other of a fabulous sunset.

What I realised is that I have taken two photographs almost exactly the same only in England. The pontoon one was taken at Ullswater in the Lake District on a weekend away. And the sunset was from a walk in a late summer evening at Knypersley Pond in Staffordshire.

These four pictures are almost identical. I do not know when Sorrow took hers. I do know where they were taken, as I've been on a canoe on that lake with her two years ago.

What I love about these pics is that we see things with the same heart and eyes. That despite only having spent a few days in each others company in the last couple of years that we have a massive spiritual connection that transcends normal day to day contact. And that being able to have that connection with her, and with other friends is what love means to me. Knowing that I have that connection with her and others makes life worth living.

So to all those amazing people who I'm privileged to call my friends I thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving me, as I do you
