NEXT CHAPTER

Just a note I've written another chapter.... making 9 Whee!
This one is about anger and the part it plays both good and bad in our lives.
I also need some advice. I realised that I probably need to copyright my work.
Anyone know how I do that?

cheapest and easiest way is to mail it to yourself certified post (or whatever the brit equivalent would be--you have to sign when it arrives, and it is postmarked) then don't open it unless you find someone has plaigerized you.

sorry even though I did look into this a few years ago for DC's band I didn't find anything concrete. From what I gather you just say it is copywrite. some bloggers put the copywrite sign on their bloggs but I have no idea how

Put the copyright symbol on the face page, send it registered post to you, don't open it, and something about the British library register. You can apply for an ISBN code as well, and a bar code.
Oh and nice pic ;)

Interesting. The advice you've been given always used to be the standard. But I do wonder, now we're all blogging, if your dated blog itself doesn't act as some kind of copyright. In reality, it's really rare for people to nick copy wholesale. Ideas of course are something else but it's darned hard to prove someone nicked an idea.

I don't know about British copyright laws, Fire Byrd. Here in the States, they are very involved and convoluted...from my own experience. Wish I could help.

Your blog is protected by your own copyright.
Simple.

You may wish to consider Creative Commons or something similar if you wish to share your work as seen on your blog.

However, if - eventually - you are going to be published (hopefully) don't license it.

On the other side make sure you give accreditation and references at all times.
